@Robin: That's interesting that you mention too many cresteds; we had several for sell, and those are the only specie that we actually sold out of. Also, there were snake vendors on both sides of us and the one to the left sold out right after lunch, and the other seemed to do very well. But that is your opinion. I agree with most vendors quoted in the article that everyone should breed and sell if they want! I think that that is one of the most educational parts of breeding, keeping, and selling geckos.

@Robin Thanks for the comment! I keep some unusual gecko species. Cat geckos, Australian species, african species, stuff that no one else at the show ever has. It's nice to have cool things for people to see for the first time. The problem I face is no one is willing to buy these more rare species. Maybe over time, with people coming to expect odd species at my table, I will build a cliental. Otherwise, I'm selling my leopard and crested geckos in Manchester with ease, even priced higher than the competition. I like the show!

Thanks for the review. I was at the show (have gone a number of years) with some young teens with a dragon who had never been to a reptile show. They enjoyed it, but personally I would have liked to have been able to show them more variety - too many ball pythons and cresteds. Everyone jumps on the band wagon. Part of the show is also to educate. I spoke to a number of crested breeders and there was absolutely no common thread for how to care for them. Some said baby food, some said no. Temps varied. Supplies that I purchased by recommendation from a noted supplier in Western MA (I was very specific as to my needs) turned out to be the wrong size - hood too big, bulb too strong - and now too far to return. Didn't see one full grown python to let potential buyers know exactly what is in store. Don't think I would waste my time and money again to attend. NY was far better with education, variety and info although too far.

The beetles can live for quite a few month's. If they are dying that quickly it's probably a heating issue. They are probably too hot or too cold so try to keep them around the mid-70s. If that doesn't seem to be the problem try a smaller container. Sometimes a larger container with only a few beetles will lead to death.
